What We Do
At Inside-to-Outside, we bring together mindful movement, meaningful connection, and nourishing food to support wellbeing from the inside out. Our offerings begin with Yoga & Mindful Living Events held at St Mark’s Church, Portobello, Edinburgh, workshops blending yoga, meditation, reflection, and gentle discussion around alignment, mental health, and self-care. Alongside these, we offer Therapeutic Sessions in Yoga and Nutrition — small, personal experiences designed to restore balance through mindful movement, breathwork, and intuitive, socially shared meals that reconnect body, mind, and community.

Fun, informative and social gatherings designed to support your health and wellbeing. Each event weaves together elements of yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, and reflection to help you reconnect with yourself and others. Held at St Mark’s Church, Portobello, Edinburgh, these sessions offer space to breathe, learn and grow — together.

2. Yoga Therapy
Personalised sessions designed around you. Together we explore how movement, breath, and awareness can ease stress, reduce pain, and improve mobility and emotional balance. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, or physical tightness, yoga therapy helps you rebuild connection between body and mind in a supportive environment.

3. Nutritional Therapy
Small-group or one-to-one sessions (up to six people) that bring social connection back to the table. We choose meals you love, gently adapt them for balance and nourishment, then meet to share and enjoy them together at St Mark’s or a place that suits you. Along the way, we explore mindful eating, the stories behind our food, and the links between nutrition, community, and mental health.

4. Online and Digital Resources
Coming soon — guided online sessions, community discussions, and digital tools to help you stay connected wherever you are. From live workshops on Teams to wellbeing resources and reflections, our digital space will extend the Inside-to-Outside approach into your everyday life.

A Different Kind of Strength
By strengthening the following 5 core qualities our overall health and place in the world will improve.
Strength of will – Changing ingrained habits is difficult, but not impossible. Master this and unwanted habits don’t stand a chance.
Resilience – As we start to add what we need and remove what no longer serves us our resilience builds.
The American Psychological Association (APA) define resilience as; “the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress.”
Reconnection – Body with mind, farm to fork, inner world with outer sense organs. Living more in the flow state. There is much we can do here.
Refinement – Change is gradual and not all relevant changes will present themselves at once. We use refinement to apply, observe, rethink and then apply once more. This will be applied with diet, exercise, social needs, recovery techniques and whatever other need is uncovered.
Alignment – If our actions are not aligned to our beliefs problems will occur in the mind or emotions. If our actions are not aligned with what our body needs we will be more prone to disease and/or injury.
These qualities already live in you. We all struggle and our work on an individual and social level is to help them reawaken and develop into strong, foundational roots.

I’m Mark Smith. I’ve spent years guiding others through movement, nourishment, and mindful practices.
I’m passionate about what I do and love to help people to help themselves. I’m here to offer rhythm, depth, and steady presence to enable and accelerate learning, discovery and healing.
